Self Care, Self Love

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I wanted to treat you all with a very special post filled with self-care and self-love!

Self-care and self-love are totally different, but you need both. To define self-care, it’s basically the act of taking care of yourself physically and mentally. You know, taking the time to feel good in your skin, which we all need from time to time. Self-love, on the other hand, means loving yourself unapologetically and being kind and compassionate towards yourself.

No matter who you are, what you’ve done or what stage of life you’re at, everyone should incorporate self-care and self-love into your life. A little bit of self-love and self-care can go a long way toward helping you in your everyday life. So, today I have gathered some ways to self-care and self-love. Also, taking care and showing love to yourself does not mean spending a lot of money on yourself, so don't worry about me blabbing about spending a ton of money to feel good. It’s all about taking care of yourself in every way that matters, so let's begin!

Speak more loving words about yourself. Whenever I feel like I need some self-love I look at myself in the mirror and say 3 things I love about myself, physically and/or mentally. We all deserve our own love and affection!

Remember, Winnie the Pooh wore a crop top and ate his favorite food and loved himself and you can too.

Spend some time alone and set yourself short and long-term goals. Make sure they are realistic and beneficial to you! They can be tiny such as, no candy this week or they can be huge like travel to my dream location. Setting goals gives you so much motivation and when you accomplish them it makes you feel so great! So make sure you set your goals, and slowly but surely you'll accomplish them!
You are never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream.

Give yourself a few minutes of YOU time. Taking a little time for yourself refreshes and re-energizes you. It allows you to think more clearly and make better decisions. Taking “me” time also builds your self-esteem, as you come to realize that you are important and deserve to have a little time to yourself. Personally, I love to take care of my skin with a skincare routine. I also like to light candles and meditate while taking a bath or doing yoga. I also take some time to note down a few things in my journal, like I mentioned earlier they can be goals for the day/week/year or whatever thoughts and/or feelings I have.
Give yourself the same care & attention that you give to others and watch yourself bloom.

Love yourself by giving yourself enjoyable rewards. It's important to reward yourself, sometimes we're so focused on balancing life, whether it’s the work-life balance or the family-life balance, along with the healthy-lifestyle balance, it can be a lot! And by rewarding yourself you're showing yourself that all the efforts resulted in a positive reward which makes you feel great! So I like to reward myself from time to time. It can be as simple as enjoying a dessert after dinner, binge watching a new show, or going out go out after a hard day at work.
Whatever happens, know that you're doing the best you can and you can do even better tomorrow.

Happy Valentine's day! Let’s make this post even longer and comment below, how you practice self-care? What has self-love done for you? Tell us in the comments! Let's inspire someone with a new way to nurture themselves and remember to always love yourself.
