Winter Wonderland | She & Him Adventures

Are you ready for a winter wonderland adventure? If so, grab your coat and your snow boots because today we are visiting the snowy Truckee, California. Ricky and I, along with a few of my family members headed out to Reno for a mini vacation. During our road trip up north we made a few stops in Truckee, California to enjoy the snow. The beautiful snowy landscapes inspired me to put this post together featuring a few of my favorite photos. I hope you enjoy this very special She & Him Winter Wonderland Adventure.

I haven’t experienced playing in the snow in a really long time. The last time I can remember seeing snow was when Ricky and I went to New York but it wasn't enough snow to play with, so you can imagine how excited I was when I found out we were going.
As soon as we arrived to Truckee, we saw the miles and miles of snow. Immediately we knew we had to stop here to play and of course take some pictures.

As you can tell Ricky and I were totally not ready when we arrived, well shoe wise . I underestimated how cold my feet would get and I kid you not 5 minutes later I had to changed to my Hunter Boots because my toes were frozen, Ricky also changed to his boots.
As soon as we changed our shoes, we felt a lot warmer and were able to enjoy all this beautiful snow. I couldn't believe it, it was so magical!
I can't forget to thank my awesome brother for taking one of my favorite pictures! 2019 Christmas picture, eh?

After playing in the snow for a while, it was time to get back on the road because our final destination was Reno, Nevada. Expect that post next week!
On our last day of our mini vacation we made a second stop in Truckee to explore the area and of course to play in the snow. As you can tell by the picture above there was almost 5 foot of snow in some areas, so there was a lot of snow to play with.
One of the first things Ricky wanted to do was walk a trail through the woods, and so I followed him.

And when we made it to the top it was beautiful!!! It was just me and Ricky (since my family stayed behind) and we were surrounded by all this beautiful snow. It was very peaceful and quiet, and we took a moment to cherish all of this. No cars, no people, just nature.

And of course we took some pictures of each other.
Then it was time to head back before we got lost, this time he followed me.
When we finally got back down, we found my sister-in-law sliding down the mountain. I was tempted to slide down too but I was terrified. What can I say I had a bad fall when I was a kid. So instead I played with the snow.
Sidenote: Thanks mom for the awesome Betabrand coat. Betabrand loved my Instagram picture so much that they gave me money to shop at their store. #sponsored but not really sponsored.
Lastly, it was time to take the last pictures before it was time to say goodbye to this beautiful winter wonderland.

As you can see from these pictures, Truckee was a true winter wonderland. This is what winter is supposed to look like. Ricky and I had so much fun and I'm so glad I was able to enjoy this trip with a few of my family members. I hope you enjoyed this post! It was an incredible adventure and I think visiting the snow might have to be a yearly tradition.
