Cafe Réveille | She & Him Eats

Welcome back to another She & Him Eats, and the first one of the year! Today we are visiting the aesthetically pleasing Cafe Réveille! Cafe Réveille serves a variety of food options, that are broken up into breakfast, lunch, and brunch menus and you cant forget about their famous Réveille’s coffee drinks. I've been wanting to go to this cute cafe for a while and during one of our visits to San Francisco we decided to stop by for some brunch! So, if you love a good laid back cafe spot, with great food and delicious coffee, than you definitely want to continue reading!

Ricky and I came by on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Even though it was quite busy, I found us a table right before we placed our order. So while I saved us the table, Ricky ordered the food. I spy Ricky!
We started with the Levain Toast with Poached Egg and Lox. I have been craving Lox for such a long time, so as soon as I saw it on the menu I knew we had to start with that. When it arrived I couldn't wait to start eating it, so I quickly snapped some pictures. The eggs were perfectly poached and it went so well with the lox, this was the perfect starter. Shortly after finishing the Levain Toast, our main dishes came out which was great because Ricky and I were still hungry.
Ricky ordered the Homestyle Breakfast; with Two Eggs, Golden Potatoes, Toast and Bacon. This is a very Ricky breakfast, he loves eating potatoes, bacon, and eggs. He said you really cant go wrong with the Homestyle Breakfast, I tried the potatoes and I must agree!
I was really craving something light so I ordered the Smoked Salmon Plate and I was presented with the most beautifully colored plate consisting of smoked salmon, poached egg, pickled onions, cucumbers, radish, capers, cream cheese, and levain bread. I was so impressed when it arrived and I couldn't wait to eat it all!
This is how I assembled my delicious smoked salmon plate. I really loved the fluffiness of the cream cheese topped with the smoked salmon along with the sourness from the pickled onions and freshness from the radish and cucumbers. It all went so well together! I don't know if you noticed but I didn't add any capers, I tried them once and I was not a fan. I feel like I need to give capers a try again but this was not the day to give them a try again. The only downside to this meal if I had to say a downside was that the bread was on the tougher side, but it held the ingredients nicely, so it wasn't really a downside.
I also ordered a cute little Cappuccino and I love that the barista was so great at remembering who ordered what because as soon as he finished making my cappuccino he locked eyes with me and said your coffee is ready!
P.S their coffee was on point! And I really need to go back to try their Affogato, a coffee based dessert. It usually takes the form of a scoop of vanilla gelato or ice cream topped with a shot of hot espresso. Yum! I can't forget to mention that their whole beans are also available for purchase. I bought a bag of their Paradise Espresso and it's probably the best coffee beans I have ever had.
Cafe Réveille is probably one of my favorite breakfast spot in San Francisco. I really like the cute pink aesthetic and the people who work there are so nice! I didn't try any of their pastries but they look delicious! I highly suggest going if you can. Fair warning though, lines can get kinda long during peak hours, but it moves quick and is worth the wait! I definitely can't wait to go back, especially to pick up some more whole beans.

What's your opinion?

  1. I have to try this place! This is on my list of places for me and Rudy to visit next time we're in San Francisco! It looks so cute and refreshing.
