Before we get into this totally awesome Tattoo Tag, I want to thank my great friend Juliana for tagging me. If you haven't check out her blog I highly recommend you should. She an amazing friend and blogger! Now let's get into this tattoo tag!
1. Do you consider yourself a tattoo collector?
Yes, but I don't think I have enough tattoos on my body to be considered a collector but maybe in a few years.
2. When did you realize you were becoming a collector?
I think after my second tattoo. I've always loved full sleeves and after getting my Snow White tattoo on my arm I knew I wanted a sleeve of Disney tattoos.
3. How old were you when you first decided you wanted to get a tattoo?
I've always loved tattoos but I was really interested in getting one in high school. Especially once I turned 18 but I am so happy I had strict parents that didn't let me get a tattoo when I was 18 because I would of highly regret if I got what I wanted when I was 18. Let's just say it involved Nautical Stars on my pelvis. Yeah! I know.
4. At what age did you get your first tattoo?
23! When I was 16 my parents said no tattoos until I was 18. When I turned 18 they said no tattoos until I graduate HS. When I graduated HS they said no tattoo until I move out. When I moved out for college they said no tattoos until I'm 21 and finally when I turned 21, I explained to them why I wanted to get this particular tattoo and how meaningful it would be to me. They weren't too happy but they knew they couldn't stop me and I had been begging for their approval for years.
5. Where do you get your tattoos done at?
At the moment I don't have one specific place I go to anymore. For the most part, I was also going to Hurtswell Tattoo in San Jose, but like Juliana mentioned in her post that shop closed down a few years ago.
6. What does your family think of your tattoos?
I should mention, I am the youngest sibling and the first one to get a tattoo. So it was very new to my parents. When I got my first tattoo, they weren't too fond of it. It took my dad a while to get use to it but eventually they got use to it. However, when I started to work on my sleeve my dad was not happy. Let's just say I kind of told them I only wanted one tattoo and now I have 7 tattoos. Sorry dad!
7. Which piece took the most sessions to complete?
Maybe my sleeve because it was multiple tattoos done at once. First I got the outline made and then I went for a second session to color it. I still need a touch up but since that tattoo shop closed, I am in need to find a new artist that is willing to do touch ups.
8. Which tattoo took the longest to heal?
Definitely my first tattoo! It's a pretty big piece behind my thigh and since it was my first tattoo I didn't know how to take care of it.
9. How many tattoos do you have?
7! Once again sorry dad.
10. Have you always loved tattoos?
Yes. I was kind of scared I would hate my own tattoo as I got older but the older I get the more I love my tattoo and the tattoo culture.
11. Out of all your tattoos which one would you say is your favorite?
Probably my UP house or my Snow White, she's so adorable.
12. Has anyone ever copied your tattoo?
I don't think so, I haven't really posted any picture online of my arm but if people have I am okay with it. A lot of people copy or get inspired by other people. Plus, Imitation (copying) is the sincerest form of flattery.
13. Do you regret any of your tattoos?
No I don't, maybe the placement but it doesn't bug me.
14. What was the least painful tattoo you've gotten?
My Snow White, it was done so fast and painless. My tattoo artist kept warning me that it would hurt since my arm was so skinny.
15. What's the furthest you've traveled for a tattoo?
Not far at all. The first tattoo shop I went was like 15 minutes away and the second tattoo shop was literally a few blocks away from my apartment.
16. How do you care for your tattoos?
I am so bad at tattoo care. I just use a lot of lotion to keep it hydrate and for after-aftercare I use Coppertone Tattoo Guard SPF 50.
17. How did you decide or get inspiration for your tattoo(s)?
My first tattoo was an homage to my parents and myself (yes I know kind of cheesy) but I love my parents and they gave me life.
18. What was the most painful tattoo you've gotten?
Definitely my first tattoo again! It was such a long session and at first it didn't hurt but towards the end my skin was so sensitive and I was in so much pain.
19. What's your most recent tattoo?
My Alice, Magic Mirror, Luxo lamp, and Small World Haunted Mansion Clock I got them all at the same time during my last session.
20. How do you react when someone asks to see your tattoo?
I love it! It usually sparks a Disney related conversation.
21. What was the longest time you sat for to complete your tattoo?
5 hours and it was my first tattoo! Afterwards I treated myself to tacos and horchata.
22. Do you plan on getting more tattoos in the future?
Yes! I've been itching for a new tattoo. I've been eyeing a female tattoo artist work for a while and I'm hoping to contact her eventually to set up an appointment.
23. If you could completely start over with your tattoos would you choose or do something differently?
Immediately I think my answer would be no but like I mentioned above I would like to change the placement and size of one of them.
24. Which tattoo is the most secretive that no one really knows you even have it?
None of them. All of my tattoos are pretty much visible.
25. When will your tattoo collection be finished?
Who knows! Maybe when I'm old and I can't tattoo my skin anymore.
Well that's the end of this tattoo tag. In the future, I will be share with you all a post all about my tattoos along with more photographs and the stories behind my tattoos. I hope you enjoyed this tag, once again thank you Juliana for tagging me.
I enjoyed reading this so much. Since I published mine I've been waiting for you to share yours haha. I love your Snow White tattoo, you know that inspired me to get my Alice. We're kind of like twinning, again❤️ haha.

DeleteThank you so much!
I think it was very sensible to wait until you were 23 to get your first tattoo, sometimes the things we are obsessed about in our teens don't really seem to last. I got my first (and only) tattoo at 18, I still love it today but I think is mainly because its small, simple and in a part of my body I don't necessarily look at all the time.

That's good! I would of grown up hating my tattoo if I got what I originally wanted as a teenager but I'm glad I waited.
DeleteI'm so surprised your parents are that strict. 👀 BUT I love your tattoos. They're so nice. What's your fav Disney character btw?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah my parents were pretty strict going up! I'm surprised they are more open to tattoos now.
DeleteThank you!❤ My favorite all time Disney character: Alice (Alice in Wonderland)
