Reasons to visit Disneyland's Halloween Time

It's Halloween Time at Disneyland! This past week officially started the first day of Halloween at Disneyland and all the spooky, well not so spooky decorations are up at Disneyland. This is probably my favorite time of the year at Disneyland, maybe even more than Christmas. Well they are both beautiful in their own way. I love all the decorations, costumes, and yummy Halloween treats you see at the park during this time. So I decided to share with you all my Top 5 Reasons to visit Disneyland during it's Halloween Time
1. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place each year on selected nights. It is a separate ticketed after-hours event hosted at Disneyland. On this night not only do you get to dress up in costume but you also get to see a spooky parade, fireworks and trick or treat for delicious candy through the entire park. I myself have never attended a Halloween party but many of my friends and siblings have and they always tell me how much fun it is. The first party this year starts on September 23rd. I am hoping this year is the first year I get to stay for a Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
2. Decorations.
As you enter Main Street, U.S.A. you will find it transformed into a Pumpkin Wonderland. You can't miss the GIANT Mickey Mouse pumpkin. The park is decorated with hundreds of hand carved pumpkins and the story goes that no two pumpkins are alike at Disneyland. Along with all the beautifully carved pumpkins and spooky decorations around Main Street U.S.A., some of Disneyland attractions are also transformed for Halloween Time. Space Mountain turns into the ghoulishly creepy Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy which features strobe lights, chilling music and scary ghosts. Next, The Haunted Mansion is changed into Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The ride features jack-o-lanterns, gingerbread houses, wreaths, creepy toys and characters from the popular movie.

You can find even more beautiful decorations inside Frontierland. During Halloween Time, Disneyland decorates the area around the Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante for the Dia de los Muertos celebration. I think it's such a beautiful way to celebrate the art and traditions of the Day of the Dead. This display will be up the Disneyland Park from September 9 through November 1.
3. Costumes.
Yes, we all know children in Disney themed costumes can be seen at Disneyland all year round, but during Halloween Time, kids and adults are welcome and encouraged to dress up as their favorite Disney characters. It's the only time during the entire year that you can come dressed up, head to toe in a costume identical to a Disney character. If you're like me, a kid at heart, you will definitely enjoy dressing up.
4. Special Character Photo Opportunities.
During Halloween Time at Disneyland there are many wickedly awesome character photo opportunities. For example, there are numerous of Disney characters dressed in their Halloween costumes such as, Minnie, Mickey, and Donald. In addition to the characters in their Halloween costumes you can also find Disney villains such as Maleficent and the Queen of Hearts, and other spooky characters like Jack Skellington and Sally. Disneyland truly give you great Halloween photo opportunities with some wicked characters you normally wouldn't see around the park.
5. Spooky Treats.
Lastly and the most delicious are the spooky treats. During Halloween Time, Disneyland creates a variety of delicious and beautifully decorated treats. You can find a mummy Mickey Mouse treat, halloween crispy treats, Jack Skellington cake pops, pumpkin cupcakes, and my favorite are the spectacularly decorated caramel apples. Some of the Halloween treats come in some spooktacular cups or buckets. One of my favorite is the Poison Apple mug, which is also available this year.
Overall, Halloween Time is such a wickedly awesome time to go visit! The entire park feels even more magical. I truly believe Halloween Time is my favorite time of the year. The first time I got my Annual Pass and became an AP Holder, was during Halloween Time. I was lucky enough to take my photo for my pass in front of the giant Mickey Mouse pumpkin. So now every time I go into the park I love seeing my photograph when they scan it, because for that one second I see a huge Mickey Mouse Pumpkin smiling at me in the background of my photograph.

Well I hope you enjoy this! Comment below and let me know what's your favorite time of the year to visit Disneyland or let me know if this post persuaded now to visit Disneyland during Halloween Time!

    3. It was available last year but I'm not sure about this year. I remember seeing it at the Plaza Inn, in their dessert section.
